My beautiful Grandma (this was taken last Christmas)
So, I just got back from California a few days ago, and now in a few more days McGee and I are leaving for our honeymoon. So... oh my goodness. I don't know where October has gone and I'm trying really hard to wrap my head around it. I seem to have caught a terrible cold while I was in CA (or more likely it was from one of my flights... Planes are just terrible for germs), so I'm trying everything I can to kick this cold before our honeymoon. I'm sooo looking forward to our honeymoon, but I just can't believe it's here already! It has really snuck up on me. We're trying to pack, and it's more complicated than packing for most trips because we're bringing all of our camping stuff. Our tiny tent fits in my suitcase, and we have a duffel bag that's holding our sleeping bags, etc. We also have lots of camping gear, and most of it is good for backpacking so it's lightweight and small, which is ideal for packing it in suitcases or carry-on bags. We're thinking we should hopefully just have to check 2 bags, and then each carry on one bag (we're trying to pack as lightly as possible!). Here's a recap of our plans:
Day 1: Fly to Las Vegas, quickly stop by Wal-Mart for supplies, and drive to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon (we're camping for 2 nights). We'll explore the Grand Canyon on Day 2.
Our campsite! That's the canyon just beyond those trees.
Day 3: Drive to Canyonlands National Park (we're staying in a cute little B&B just outside the park).
Day 4: Go to Arches National Park (only about 10 minutes from the B&B), and camp 1 night.
Day 5: Drive to Capitol Reef National Park and camp 1 night.
Day 6: Drive to Bryce Canyon National Park. We're staying in an adorable little cabin from the 1920s that's inside the park (how convenient!).
Our cabin
Day 7: Drive to Zion National Park, and camp 2 nights. We're going to hike The Narrows (but not if there's a high flash flood risk, don't worry!!).
Day 9: Drive to Las Vegas Airport and leave! We have a late afternoon flight so it should work out really well.
And by the time we get back to Philly, it's almost Halloween!! I've decorated for Halloween already, but I haven't had time to take pictures or anything yet... I'll try to do that when we get back. Oh, and we're getting our new windows installed right after we get back too! Crazy...
