Anyways, back to something good! Our trip to Maine and Acadia was AMAZING. We drove up early in the morning on May 4th, and we drove back on May 11th. I'm not sure of the best way to break up my posts for this trip because I took an INSANE amount of pictures, so I'll do my best to break it up in a way that makes sense!
We camped the nights of May 4th and May 5th, and then on May 6th we spent the night in Bar Harbor at a cuuuuuute little AirBnB right in town, and then we had two more nights of camping on May 7th and May 8th. After that, we headed to Boothbay Harbor for the last two nights! The weather was really perfect on our trip! The daytime temperatures were in the low 60s, and the nighttime temperatures were COLD for camping (in the 30s), but that actually made it better because mosquitoes were not a problem at all! Mosquitoes can be a HUGE problem in Maine, but we didn't have any problems thanks to those chilly nights. We just had to bundle up for the evenings, and I literally slept inside two sleeping bags.
May 4th: We didn't do much this day! After our 8-ish hour drive, we were pretty exhausted! We set up our campsite, got a nice campfire going, and just enjoyed relaxing for the evening.
May 5th: We went exploring Acadia National Park! We checked out the Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse and did a little hiking right around there, and that was super fun. All of my photos from there are terrible though because there was this lady that just refused to get out of the way for everyone. So, she's in EVERYONE'S pictures from that day. We also went into Bar Harbor for a bit, and also drove around the Park Loop Road that goes all around the park!
Beautiful Maine coastline!
There's the lighthouse and the woman's head (right behind the rock towards the right side)
Here's Kevin very annoyed that the woman wouldn't leave. Haha :)
This amaaazing coffee place in Bar Harbor! Delicious.
Kevin on one of our hikes off of Park Loop Road!
My handsome husband!
May 6th: We hiked Dorr Mountain! This was our toughest hike of the trip, and it was awesome. We were suuuper tired after this one! It took us about 4 hours.
This was a scary ladder we had to climb up on part of the hike! It was really hard to even reach the ladder because it started like waist-high, and then the ladder TOTALLY moved and shifted a lot when you got to the half-way point. This picture is from the top after we'd finished it.
