Ok, enough complaining! Goodness. Sorry about that. This last weekend Kevin and I went into town for an Oktoberfest Festival! A German bar on South Street shut down the block to have a huge Oktoberfest party, and we met up with Timmy there! The festival was sooooo crazy and packed! We waited in line for a while for beer, and then we found three seats at the jam-packed tables, so we sat there and drank our beer and chatted. It was SO busy and crowded though, so we didn't really want to hang out and wait in lines for food, etc and we couldn't get too close to the music. We ended up just heading to a different bar that was nearby when we finished our beer. The bar that we went to is called Tattooed Mom, and it's a pretty fun bar. It's really busy at night, but we were there at like 5pm or something so it wasn't crowded at all! We found a nice area in the back to hang out, and they had bumper cars so we all had to take turns getting our pictures in the bumper cars. After we had a beer there, it was time for me and Kevin to head to the Phillies game!
The Phillies were playing the Oakland A's, and we had found a deal months ago that was buy one get one free! I wore one of Kevin's Phillies jerseys, but I wore a green shirt underneath to secretly also cheer for the A's. I like both teams, so I was just hoping for a good game! Well, we got to see a TINY bit of the game and we were chatting with a few people near us, and then it started POURING rain!! We were getting soaked, and we knew they were going to call for a Rain Delay when it didn't stop. So, sure enough, it was a Rain Delay. We hung out for like an hour or something, but it just wasn't seeming like the rain was going to stop. It was really pouring rain. So, then we decided we'd just head home.
We saw that there was an Uber Pool option that was SUPER cheap, so we decided to give that a try because we'd never tried Uber Pool (that's where you ride in a car with other people). Well, when we got in, there was just one other person, and she was getting dropped off in West Philadelphia at a club. So, easy peasy! We would be taken home right after that, so no big deal, right? Well... it did not happen like that at all. The girl was SUPER rude and seemed pissed that other people were in the car and was worried that we would be dropped off first. She lived in New Jersey, so she did not know the area at all. The driver assured her that she was being dropped off first. So we went to the club in West Philly (NOT a good neighborhood!!) where she said her friend was performing. Well, when we dropped her off she went running up the steps to the club, but as we were driving away we noticed that it looked VERY closed... Like, super closed. The whole are was dark and there weren't lights anywhere. We were keeping an eye on the place as we turned the corner because the whole area seemed super unsafe, and that's when we saw her heading back towards the street. So, the driver was discussing it with me and Kevin and we all decided we should loop back around to see if she was ok. We saw her standing in the middle of the street, and she came sprinting back to the car when she saw us. She got in, and I'd just found on my phone when I googled the club that it was Permanently Closed. So... I showed her my phone so she could see all of the mentions that the club had been permanently closed months ago. The driver told her he would take her back home (to New Jersey) after he dropped us off at home. We were still like 30 minutes from our house... but the whole drive to our place she was pissed and was texting her friends and then mentioning other locations in different parts of Philly where they were if the driver could drop her off there before dropping us off... And when he said he could after, she was PISSED that she was going to be in the car for so long. She was ridiculous. Then she started crying... I don't think she appreciated AT ALL that the driver basically maybe saved her life (and kept her from probably being assaulted or robbed...) by keeping an eye on her after dropping her off and then doing a lap to come back for her. Most drivers wouldn't have done that, and she would have been in a very dangerous situation. She was being so rude to him, and just seemed really angry that we were being taken home before she ended up at a location. So... bottom line: We are NEVER doing Uber Pool again!!
That was our weekend! Next weekend I have a baby shower to go to, and we're hoping to do some work on our house too. Love you guys! I hope you're all having some Fall weather!!
