St Michaels, MD

Hello my dear friends and family!  Oh my goodness, I haven't posted in over a month!  September was a very busy but very fun month!  I'll do separate posts on the big stuff that happened.  So, this post is about a trip that Kevin and I took to St. Michaels, MD in the middle of September!  We had a lovely time, and it was sooo relaxing.

On the drive down, we stopped by a brewery called Bull & Goat Brewery, and it was pretty good!  It wasn't our favorite, but it was a nice chill break on our drive down.  I loved their logo though!  We had one beer, and then were ready to finish the drive down to St. Michaels!

We arrived at our CUTE little house, and totally fell in love with it!!  It was adorable.  We hung out for a bit, and then we spent the rest of our evening wandering around town, and we grabbed an amaazing dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in town.

Our house for the weekend:

The next day, we had a really lovely breakfast in town, and then went to a nearby brewery we'd heard great things about!  It was called Cult Classic Brewery, and it had a sci-fi movie theme to the brewpub, which was really fun!  Tons of old movie posters and they had the SciFi channel on the TVs. The bathrooms were also hilarious, because in the women's bathroom they had funny posters in all of the stalls, and in the men's bathroom they had a poster with instructions on how to use the urinal!  Kevin took a picture of it for me because I wanted to see!  Haha

Here's one of the funny posters that was in a stall of the women's bathroom.

Here's the instructions from the guy's bathroom!  I love the color guide for your pee, so you can try to judge how you're doing.

Here's my beers from Cult Classic!

After we hung out there for a little bit, we walked around St. Michaels some more and had a lovely day there!  We ate a bunch of oysters, and had a great time just sitting by the water watching the boats and reading our books for a bit.  We were SO relaxed!

On Sunday we had a lovely morning of relaxing and had an awesome breakfast, and then we started our drive back!  We stopped by ANOTHER brewery on our way home, but it's a brewery on a farm!!  The farm was SO fun, and the guy that owns it looooves his life so much.  He started talking to us right away and then was introducing us to his chickens and giving us food to hand-feed them, and he even put one of the friendliest ones on my shoulder!  I was a little nervous at first, but it was so sweet!  It started making these little humming purr sounds in my ear!  It was super friendly and seemed to love people. There was also an ENORMOUS dog named Security that I loved so much, and all it wanted to do was cuddle me while I was sitting at the bar and also flop on his back and get tummy rubs.  So, I was loving my time there.  After Kevin and I each had a flight (4 4oz beers), we walked around the farm to see more animals!  The goats were amaaazing, and I learned that goats really love to sit in chairs.  So, here are a TON of pictures from our time there:

That was our trip to St. Michaels!  We had an amaaazing time, and felt so relaxed when we got back!!

Summer Recap, and Fall Bucket List

Wow, I think Summer is officially over!!  Time has been flying by.  I feel like August was just a blink! I don't really have a lot of stuff for the Summer recap, but I can say that I'm soooo happy it's just about Fall now!  I FOR SURE have my Fall Bucket List ready!!  I will put that at the end of this post too.

A few weeks ago Kevin and I went to a baby shower for his cousin Ryan and his wife Janet. It was at this really awesome restaurant downtown, and it was a great time!
There's Ryan and Janet, and I wanted to get a picture with the cool bridge in the window at the top of the restaurant!

There's Ryan and Janet opening presents, and Ryan's sister Mary is sitting in the other chair, and that's Kevin's mom and Ryan's mom on the right side.

We went to a Philly Union soccer game this past weekend!  It was an amaaazing game, and the Union won which means they are in 1st Place and they've clinched the playoffs!  I think this is the first good season that the Union has had! I went to the game with Kevin and his friend Juliff, and we had such a great time!

That's the Union's mascot.  It's supposed to be a snake... but it has arms and legs... so... I don't know.  It's confusing. And it was wearing a brightly-colored hat that night for 90's Night (the music was amaaazing).

The Union won!!!  It was a VERY exciting game!!!

There was quite a fireworks show when we were walking to the car after the game!

Alright, it's Fall Bucket List time you guys!  I am SO excited for Fall, for soooo many reasons!!  I'm excited to make lots of bread and soups, and bake with apples and pumpkins... and light sooo many amazing-smelling candles, and decorate for Fall and Halloween, and wear sweaters and enjoy some chilly weather... and watch FOOTBALL!!  I have decided that I am officially ready to be an Eagles fan this year.  I've always rooted for the Eagles, but I was a Chargers fan and I needed some time to grieve them moving to Los Angeles and get over that, and last year I felt ready for a new team but the Eagles had just won the Super Bowl so I didn't think I could start liking them last year because it'd seem too bandwagon-y!  So, THIS is the year!!  I'm an Eagles fan. I'm definitely still an Orioles fan for baseball though... and actually, I think we're going to try to go to an Orioles game this weekend!!  So, that should be fun.  Anyways, back to the Fall Bucket List:

July Recap

I'll just do a very quick recap of July, since I was terrible about posting anything! At the beginning of the month, I went to CA to see family/friends!!  I had an amaaazing time there, and getting to spend time at my parents' ranch is so relaxing, and it's just so beautiful there. I had such a great time seeing everyone, and I miss everyone soooooo much.  My time flew by way too quickly!!

I arrived on July 4th, so my parents picked me up from the airport and drove us back to their ranch in Oakdale!  Brad, Amanda, Cassidy, and Addison all came over to eat some dinner and enjoy some fireworks!  The fireworks were EXCEPTIONALLY wonderful this year!

The Oakdale Cheese shop has a new pond in front of their shop with some koi fish, and they also have a new farm next to it where you can pet some animals!  I made a few friends.

Koi pond!

The sweetest gal ever.  She was pregnant and just loved to be petted.

Sweet Maggie! This is my parents' dog, and she is the sweetest pup.

My parents have this sign up in their kitchen and I looooove it so much!!  And it SO fits my parents, because this is exactly what they've done!!  They are so happy at the ranch, and they're just loving life.

Here's my sweet niece Cassidy!!  Brad, Amanda, Cassidy, and Addison all got SUPER sick while I was in town, and it was kinda getting passed around their family.  Somehow my parents and I stayed healthy the whole time!  One day when Brad and Addison were still very sick and Amanda was at work, but Cassidy was healthy and pretty bored so my dad and I went to pick her up so she could hang out at the ranch with us for a bit!

My trip to CA went by wayyyyy too quickly!!  I already miss everyone so much.  Things have been VERY busy since I got back to PA!  We had some fun activities in July, and I'm REALLY happy that July is almost over now because I'm ready for summer to be over! Here's a little glimpse of our July:

I went to see a production of Legally Blonde the musical! I was wondering how they would turn it into a musical, but it was great!!  It was so funny.  I met up with my friend Colleen in Philly at the Walnut Street Theater, which is the oldest theater in the U.S.!  Crazy, huh?  It's a really great little theater.  They're going to have a musical of Young Frankenstein in September, and I really want me and McGee to go see that one!  Looooved Legally Blonde though!

And last week I went with McGee and Mo to see the live taping of my FAVORITE podcast, which is How Did This Get Made?  If you've never listened to that podcast, it's hilarious.  It's hosted by 3 of my favorite comedians, and I listen to it alllll the time while I'm at work.  Basically, every episode they have one terrible movie that they're analyzing, and it's them discussing all of the terrible/great things about the terrible movie.  So, the movie they chose for the Philly show was Double Dragon, so we all watched Double Dragon before the show and then they recorded their podcast in front of the live audience!  They always have some audience participation, so it was a GREAT time.  The theater was also really cool!  I'd never been to the Met in Philly before, and it was great.

You guys... This movie was a great one for the show!!  Soooo terrible and funny. Loved it.

There's 3 of my favorite comedians!  It's Jason Mantzoukas (I looooove him so much!!), June Diane Raphael, and Paul Scheer.

That's the quick recap of our July!  It has been CRAZY hot here in Philly, with temps near 100 degrees PLUS humidity. So, it's been gross.  August is usually the grossest month, so I hope it isn't too bad.  I can't wait for Fall!!  I hope Fall comes very quickly.  I hope you're all having really great summers so far!!

Solid Sound Festival

Hey guys!  Wow, I haven't posted at all in July!  So, it's catch-up time!  I'll do one post on the Solid Sound Festival, which was actually last month, and then I'll do a quick July catch-up post!

The Solid Sound Festival is this amaaaazing festival that happens every 2 years, and it's organized by the band Wilco.  If you don't know Wilco, you should totally check them out!  They are truly great.  And the festival is always so fun, because it's 3 days, and it's held at this venue called Mass MoCA, which is an area that has a huge contemporary art museum, as well as tons of outdoor stages and large areas set up for food trucks, etc.

This year we had an amaaazing group go to the festival, and we rented a really cool AirBnB that was a very short drive to Mass MoCA!  It was a really great Solid Sound!

Here's our group!  That's Timmy, Kevin, Me, Mook, Mo, Rob (Fro's boyfriend), Fro, Jen (Michael's wife), and Michael (the opera singer)

Me and Kevin enjoying some relaxing on a hill!

Beers in boots.

Kevin, Mo, and Mook!  And the Wilco sign!  They find a new place to put it for every year of the festival!

A cool building at Mass MoCA!  That's one of the art museum buildings.

Another cool building at Mass MoCA!

The stage with the Wilco concert the first night!

Timmy found a spotlight so he had to enjoy it!

Mook, Kevin, Timmy, and Mo!  It was pouring rain, so we went to this very tree-shaded area for some cover!

Timmy felt like dancing!

The 2nd night!

Another Solid Sound Festival in the books!  We all had such a great time! Two more years til the next one!
