It's Fall!! Kinda

You guys, it's finally Fall!!  Our weather is only kinda cooperating though... We've had some very crisp Fall-ish days, and then we've had some humid Summer-ish days too with crazy rain.  Today is one of the Summer-ish humid days with tons of rain, so that is very lame.  October is riiiiight around the corner, so the Fall weather had better come back and stay for MONTHS!

But, since Fall is supposedly here, I made a Fall Bucket List!  Here it is!
The only ones I have done so far is that I've made a few pumpkin things already thanks to Trader Joes (pumpkin cinnamon rolls, pumpkin ravioli, and pumpkin soup), and I've tried 2 Oktoberfest beers (Locust Lane, which is brewery very near us, and Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest), and of course we've watched some football.  So, nothing can be crossed off quite yet!  I think I've found a good Oktoberfest for us to go to (supposedly it's one of the 10 best in the world?), and I found a new farm/orchard for us to go to for apple picking and pumpkins. So, it should be an AMAZING Fall!!

And one thing that always signals Fall in our neighborhood is that the deer are EVERYWHERE!  They're really out-and-about with lots of little baby deer too.  I've been able to take a few pictures while I've been on walks with Guinness!
This was early morning on the weekend!  It was so foggy and chilly - I loved it.

This was early evening after work! Soooo many deer!!

And something that's lingering from Summer is the bugs... They are insane right now.  Mosquitos are going nuts (I feel like I always have at least a few mosquito bites...), and the spiders are insane right now.  Here's a HUGE spider I found in our basement... It was on the wall right by the washer/dryer, and it was probably the size of a golf ball.  Ewww.  I calmly went back upstairs and asked Kevin to kill this one.  I will usually kill spiders on my own, but this one was just huge.
SO GROSS.

And I'm not sure if you can see the spider web here, but this was while I was out on a walk with Guinness.  The spider was huge (it's right on the middle of the web), and that web was bigger than a dinner plate.

A few weeks ago Kevin and I went to see Elton John!  He's on his farewell tour, and it was seriously one of the top 3 concerts I've ever been to.  It was SO great.  Elton sounded amazing, and he sang ALL of his hits!!  It was such a fun show.

And a few weekends ago we went to a Union soccer match with Kevin's family!  Kevin and his friend Juliff have season tickets, and it was Kevin's cousin Brendan's last night in the U.S. before he went back to Italy, so we all got together for a few hours of tailgating and to watch the Union game.  The tailgating was awesome, and Kevin grilled burgers and hot dogs for everyone!  Unfortunately the game was not very lovely... The Union ended up losing by a lot.

This coming weekend we're heading to New York for a daytrip on Saturday, and then on Sunday I'm thinking maybe I'll decorate for Halloween since it's almost exactly one month from Halloween!  Yayy!!

End of Summer

Hey guys!!  Wow, I have REALLY sucked at writing these entries on a regular basis!  Everything has been good, so don't worry at all.  I've just been busy, so I haven't been good at finding time to post anything!!  But, I think it's safe to say that we are at the end of Summer now!!  Which means that my favorite season (Fall!!!!!) is just about here!!  I'm very excited for all things Fall.  I thought I'd kinda just use this post as a Summer Wrap-up post, and post some random pictures, etc from this Summer.

Awhile ago I took some pictures of one of our neighbor's gardens while I was taking Guinness for a walk!  Their flowers were SO beautiful!

And Kevin and I planted some flowers by our walkway, and I'm happy to say that they're still doing really great at the end of summer!

Here they were when they were first planted, and now they're enormous!

We also got a hanging planter for by our garage!

We got a LOT of rain this summer!  Our poor side yard and backyard got pretty washed out and just stayed muddy almost all summer.  We played frisbee with Guinness whenever we could, but most of the time it was too muddy.

This was Guinness's sad face on a VERY rainy day.  He just kept looking out the front window, and he was not thrilled that we couldn't go for a walk or play frisbee.

About a month ago, we had a fairly free day so we decided to drive to the Hershey, PA area and visit Troegs Brewery.  They make some amazing beers, and I'd heard great things about their brewery but I'd never been!  It's only about an hour away, and it was a nice day for a drive up there.  We signed up for their brewery tour, and it was SUCH a great tour!!  It's a really cool facility. After the tour was over, we hung out in their restaurant/bar for a bit and ate some of their food and sampled some beers, and then we headed home!  It was a great time.
Our tour guide.

A few weekends ago the weather was pretty nice in the morning (rain was coming later, but it was our first cool-ish morning in a loooong time), so we drove 5 minutes to Valley Forge with Guinness to hike around with him!  Guinness did AMAZINGLY well on the hike, and all 3 of us had so much fun.  After that, we decided to test our luck and take Guinness to his first brewery (Locust Lane - it's very close to our house) to sit outside while we had some beers!  We gave him a tennis ball to distract him from all the people (otherwise he wants to jump up on them to say hi... We have not been able to break him of this horrible habit!), and it worked like a charm!!  He had so much fun just hanging out and chewing on his tennis ball, and it was so great to sit there and relax!  The 3 of us had such a fun day together!
Valley Forge!  I can't wait to see its Fall colors again soon!

Water break!!

Hanging out at the Locust Lane brewery!

Last weekend Kevin's family all met up at a bar in Philly that used to be owned by Kevin's grandpa (and also his great grandpa), to celebrate McGee's cousin Brendan coming home for a visit!  He's currently living in Italy with the Air Force, but his next assignment will probably be somewhere not very fun, so he should be finding out that next assignment any day now.  He's on the left in this picture, with the weird light beam going right through him.  Haha :)  The bartender took this picture, and that weird light beam is unfortunate!  In this picture is Brendan, Mook, Mo, Me, Mook's boyfriend Ethan, and Kevin! We had such a fun time, and it's a cool little bar.  Brendan leaves to head back to Italy this next weekend, so on Saturday we're all meeting up to go to a Union soccer game. I'll take more pictures at the game!

Congrats to everyone on getting thru the Summer!  It's almost Fall!! :)  I'm SO excited!!!  And don't you worry:  I will have a Fall Bucket List again!!  Love you guys!!
